During the winter of 2010 and 2011 I made two visits to the small village of Habañero in the Western portion of the Dominican Republic. I was shooting for the small non-profit Evergreen 4 Kids. Evergreen 4 Kids has built a school in the village and provides assistance to families and children of the village. The images collected here are a selection of documentary portraits of some of the residents of the village and surrounding area. The purpose of these images was to allow Evergreen 4 Kids to introduce individuals interested in their mission to the people of Habañero. I saw it as an opportunity to document and capture a moment in time, to show a bit of how these people live, and their wonderful personalities. The shooting of these images provided some of the most amazing moments of my entire career. Their eagerness to take me into their homes and lives was not something I expected.
